About TCF Trainer
An independent practice service for the TCF Canada, made for people who need NCLC 7 and want to know honestly where they stand.
Independent, and clear about it
We are not France Éducation international and we have no access to the real test. We build practice in the same format, mark it as carefully as we can, and always show our scores as estimates.
The site works in French and English, and corrections can be explained in Hindi, Vietnamese or Chinese, because many people preparing for the TCF Canada learned French as a second or third language.

How we make the practice material
Every question, prompt and recording on TCF Trainer is original material written for practice. Nothing is taken from a real test, and we never ask test-takers to share questions from their exam.
Original topics only
Every prompt, recording and text is written for TCF Trainer on everyday themes. We never publish « vrais sujets » or questions remembered from the test.
Checked twice
Every question is answered blind by a second AI from another company; if the two disagree, the question is rewritten. Our 0–20 corrections are compared with reference answers of known level.
Voices from the whole francophonie
Recordings use voices from France, Québec and francophone Africa, and get faster and denser as the level rises.
The test’s level ladder
Each 39-question series climbs like the test: 4 A1, 6 A2, 9 B1, 10 B2, 6 C1 and 4 C2 questions.
How our estimates work
Listening and reading
Each question is weighted by its level, using a ladder that is widely reported but not published by France Éducation international. That is why we show a range on the 699 scale, then the NCLC level it falls in.
Writing and speaking
An AI marks your answer out of 20 on criteria built from the public CEFR descriptors, and we compare it with reference answers of known level. Short answers or unclear audio widen the range.
The examiner
The virtual examiner is an AI. It speaks only French, plays the role the task sets, never coaches you during a task, and ends on time.
Every result says it: “Practice estimate, not an official score. Your real result may differ.”
Terms, privacy, refunds and accessibility
Terms
- For adults: you must be 18 or older.
- Practice only. Our scores are estimates, never official results.
- You can delete your account, attempts and recordings at any time.
Privacy
- We ask before your first recording. Raw audio is deleted after 30 days unless you keep it.
- We name the AI services that process your speech and text, and what each receives.
- Analytics cookies wait for your consent in the EU and UK.
Refunds
- Full refund within 7 days of purchase if you have used fewer than 5 AI grades.
- Passes are one-time payments and never renew.
- Payments and taxes are handled by [merchant of record].
Accessibility
- We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Push-to-talk works with the Space bar, or as tap to start and tap to stop.
- Every recording has a transcript in review mode.
